Why Do Turks Use Two Teapots?

The two stacked teapots system brews tea in two stages: the larger bottom pot boils water, and the smaller top pot holds concentrated tea leaves. Hot water is mixed with the tea concentrate in glasses to adjust strength, keeping tea warm and allowing personal taste preferences.

How to Use and Care for a Turkish Tea Set

Fill the bottom pot with water and boil, place loose black tea in the top pot and steep. Serve by mixing concentrated tea with hot water in tulip glasses. Clean glass cups gently with warm water and mild detergent; rinse and dry metal teapots to prevent tarnishing and store in a dry place.

What Is So Special About Turkish Tea?

Turkish tea is made from strong black tea called Rize tea, brewed in two steps for an intense flavor diluted to taste, served in tulip glasses without milk, highlighting aroma and taste. It is culturally significant and believed to offer health benefits.
